Photo dump of the "Organized Chaos" Bench. Turns out it doubles nicely as a coffee table. #woodwork #woodworking #butcherblock #handmade #alaska #woodworkingtools #woodworker #handmadecuttingboard #woodart #woodcrafter #madeintheusa #usamade #devoswoodcraft #krisdevo #lagunatools #choppingblock #craftsman #endgrain #edgegrain #diywoodworking #functionalart #makermade #art #smallbusiness

This is something I have wanted to make for about 3-4 years. Tri Corner - Trifecta bowl! - Available on website* Message for details. Making my own exotic plywood from scratch and fading them into a design was a lot of work but very enjoyable. Woodturning had been a hobby but something I would like to do more of. They have 3 accent colors which were placed to each corner. Full video on the- Y - tube @ Kris DeVo Update* FYI, I am into this bowl for about 50+ hours of labor and $400 in wood alone. Yes its expensive...

1st chaotic bowl is finished and found a new home. Someone local jumped on this one and picked it up today. Local Alaskans are a small % of my customers. I really do enjoy it when customers pick up their product in the shop. Can be easier then shipping sometimes and great to watch them pick up and see their purchase at the same time. This was my 2nd test bowl from this style technique and came out perfect. Will have around 15 available (5 chaotic and the rest in edge grain cutting board style) in a couple weeks. Cheers, Kris

6 years ago, when I made my first batch of coasters, I swore I’d never make them again. Fast forward to today and things have definitely changed. I’ve made one batch a year since then and every year, the process gets better and better. I’d say this year’s batch is the best quality I’ve made so far and it’s also been the most efficient process yet. If you’ve watched any of my YouTube videos, you’ve probably seen me struggling to crank out hundreds of these at a time. Each coaster is like making a mini cutting board, which is way more work than most would admit. 4"x4"x.22". At almost 1/4" thick, they feel solid like a proper coaster should without being big chunk of wood. These are for decorative purposes and light-duty use. 160 coasters in my Otter and Midnight Sun design. Perfect stocking stuffers! These hit the website yesterday - 17 out of 40 sets are now left. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays my friends! Cheers, Kris

Stocking stuffers just hit the website this morning! Made 40 sets of coasters in two designs - Otter and Midnight Sun. 20 sets left. $85 for 1 set of 4 coasters with shipping in the US included. Also comes with 2oz of board conditioner, stickers and a care guide. I would have to say after 5 years of making these once a year, the finish on these is the best I have done yet. Video to come later... krisdevo.com Link in bio Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays to all. Cheers, Kris

Its been a long road to get here. Learning how to make matching bowls to my cutting boards has been pretty amazing but very time consuming. Made here in Eagle River, Alaska. These are my original designs with Alaskan themed names. Bowls and boards are now live on the website and will be the last boards and bowls available for the holidays. FYI- trying to keep up with inflation is pretty hard on a small business. Anyone else feeling the pinch? Please see my link in bio or send me a message. Cheers, Kris

Turning cutting boards into bowls! I have shared some bits and pieces of the process before. Here is 2 minutes of the build. Full Y- Tube build will be out around the new year. These bowls and matching cutting boards will be available on the website shortly. Message me for details. Links in bio. Big thanks for John Harden for all the help with this process. Was a pretty big learning curve and John was huge in getting me lined up with the "how to". The Harvey T-60 lathe is just a beast! Love this new lathe. The Thunder laser Nova 24 has been a game changer for me. You dont know what you are missing until you try a real laser engraver. My Clear Vue Cyclones EF5 and ductwork has completed my shop. Huge shout out to them for the awesome dust collector all the help getting everything set up correctly! Go check out Carbon Methods new Lighting Lock! I don't get to make new designs as often as I would like but sure do enjoy seeing them being finished. This is the most intricate edge grain cutting board design yet. 40 strips for 1 cutting board/ bowl. What should I name it? Alaskan themed names only πŸ™

Its been a year since I shared this. Last time it got 5.7 million views here on Instagram. My account has been shut down for a few months now and has "not been available to be shown to non followers". All because of some sharp tools that I make handle material for.... Hopefully this helps fire it back up after deleting everything. These are two chaotic benches I made. It all started with making one out of scraps for my wife, for Christmas. The 20 minute video did 2.4 million views on YT and so I took on 2 orders for these. Its been 2 years now since I made my wife's bench. We use it everyday and it still looks like I just made it. Please, share some love here in hopes I can get my IG fired back up. Cheers, Kris
