Who the heck doesn’t love a stripe? We wrapped this Den/Library in this beautiful black and cream tented stripe from @farrowandball and painted everything out (including our ceilings, trim and millwork) in a muted mint green. Accented with rich forest and olive greens, this space is a bit tonal, a bit graphic and a lot beautiful! Design @allisonwillson Photography @patrickbiller

The Farm living room, a space that I wanted to feel comfortable if you were in here alone, but could also accommodate a lot of people. After hosting our second Thanksgiving this past weekend, I can say mission accomplished! It works for the whole darn family. Layering in worn finishes, contrasting tones and textures was also super important to me. It allows the space to feel warm and welcoming. A real kick up your feet, grab a deck of cards and stay a while vibe. Design @allisonwillson Photography @patrickbiller

The kids bath at the Farm - sweet and simple. I love these nude coloured zellige tiles, and the slight colour and size variation they have. My tile installer, does not 😅 Design @allisonwillson Photography @patrickbiller

I’m so incredibly honoured to have been included again in this years Top 100 Canadian Designers. Thank you to @lyndareevesdesign and @houseandhomemag for always supporting me in my career as a designer. My team and I share in this achievement, as collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our clients, trades, vendors and photographers - a LOT of love goes into our projects, from all angles! There are a lot of people on this list that I have admired for many years, so cheers to being a part of this amazing group of people, and congratulations to all! Grab your copy of the November issue, on stands October 7th. Photo, taken by the one and only @patrickbiller who is largely involved in a good chunk of this list. Thank you for helping us so beautifully get our work out into the world my friend!

Well wrap me up in textures why don’t you! This cottage bedroom has floor to ceiling linen wallpaper, and honestly, you may as well be retreating to a cave… but also, if caves had massive windows and lake views ha! Also, those sconces have always made my heart skip a beat. Great lighting is one of my favourite elements in a space! Especially when it’s a bit unique. Hi! I’ve never done the intro thing, and thought I’d give it a go. I’m Ali (technically Allison) and I’ve been in this industry for almost 18 years. I started my career at Sarah Richardson Design and in 2018 opened my own firm, Allison Willson Design. We are a small firm, dedicated to creating the most thoughtful, curated spaces and developing wonderful client relationships. It’s the part of the job I love the most - creating with my team AND enjoying the clients who have trusted us. I am most inspired by travel, and in fact that’s where this journey began for me. I traveled a good chunk of the world at 23 and realized I just had to be creative, work with others, be “moveable” if that makes sense, and continually inspired. I am SO lucky to do what I do! I am also inspired by nature, interesting materials, vintage objects, and other designers/artists. Paying attention to how others create is something I love to do. We have an exciting new chapter ahead of us at AWD! We are moving our offices in the New Year, we have some exciting new clients in Canada and the U.S., and have hired some great new designers. I can’t wait! On the personal side of things, I have a ten year old son Oliver, a two year old daughter Gracie, an English golden retriever Chloe, and a wonderful husband, Tony. Life has tossed a curve ball or two, but we are better for it and life is pretty darn great ❤️

This little guest bath packs in all the favourites! Beautiful marble, unlacquered brass plumbing, linen inset cabinet doors, thoughtful details (custom corbel bench legs), and a couple of nudes 🫣 We selected this gorgeous @waterworks plumbing because who can resist an exposed gooseneck shower head?! Also, if you haven’t yet checked out the new Waterworks showroom @gingers in @elte it’s a great place to see and touch all the goods. Happy weekend! Design @allisonwillson Photography @patrickbiller

Let’s be real for a second, we watch tv. I won’t even TRY to say we don’t! With a 2 and 10 year old, I wanted to be sure the kids, their friends and the whole darn family was always close by when we were also in the kitchen. So in the distance you see the Snug, the favourite room of many. With windows on three sides, a wood burning fireplace and a big sectional, it is a space to just sit and relax. I went with off black stained wood tongue and groove, burlap roman blinds and a sisal rug. These simple textures really let the view do its thing! One day I will have it shot properly - so for now here is a tiny peak. Design @allisonwillson Photography @patrickbiller

Moody mudroom, because who the heck wants to see dirt and scuff marks?! We wrapped this space in a dark stained wood, white oak and super hearty stone tiles to help with longevity, wear and tear. Happy Friday friends! Design @allisonwillson Photography @patrickbiller

Closets, two ways! This first closet was an open area off the Principal bedroom in one of our Lawrence Park projects. We matched the back of the mural and dressed the doors up by customizing a radius corner and some integrated brass pulls. The second closet is the walk in at the farm, and I wanted everything to look casually layered and hidden! The doors are dressed with chicken coup wire and linen curtains. When styles collide, it’s our favourite mix. This frame style kitchen was given some beautiful, and more traditional embellishments. Our furnishings and lighting were designed and selected to compliment the space in a more contemporary way. The vintage breakfast chairs, vintage runner and unlacquered brass fixtures give the space some soul, which is always a part of the equation!
