There are 3 things to remember in an interview: 1. No one cares if you need to take a few seconds to find a thoughtful answer. You don’t want to make an interview awkward but you shouldn’t be afraid of silence. 2. At the end of the day, it’s just a conversation. No matter what fanfare the interview entails (strict dress code, other candidates waiting to interview for the same job, etc.) it’s just a conversation between humans. You are interviewing the company just as the company is interviewing you. 3. If you find the interviewer to be particularly unfriendly, flip the script and ask a thoughtful question to the interviewer about their own personal work experience. Here’s an example: Interviewer: “What did you enjoy most about your last job?” Candidate: “My last employer had a transparent corporate structure and got detailed feedback. In fact, I was wondering, do you feel as if this company has a good system of feedback and employee development?” #business #success #career
