$IonQ announced a $1.0 billion equity offering consisting of common stock and warrants, priced at a premium of approximately 25% to its July 3, 2025 closing price. The offering includes 14.2 million common shares and 3.9 million pre-funded warrants priced at $55.49 each, plus seven-year warrants to purchase 36 million additional shares at $99.88. Heights Capital Management is the sole investor in the transaction, making it the largest single-institutional common-stock investment in the quantum industry to date. IonQ will have a pro-forma cash position of approximately $1.68 billion as of March 31, 2025, to support its long-term quantum commercialization strategy. CEO Niccolo de Masi called the deal a validation of IonQās momentum, citing recent acquisitions, intellectual property strength, and ecosystem expansion. J.P. Interesting seemingly bias skewed to big boys here ( I'm bullish $IBM) but for clarity Not worried So a.. they're all showing massive advancements on their gated models.. all research is developing off each other and that race is exciting but who knows what's what in 5yrs As far as annealing goes Many many independent research firms have surmised that gated will never rival annealing for optimization problems which are over 75% of the TAM of what businesses need and require The gated race is very different and the progress daily is sublime but when it comes to optimization, annealing has it on lockdown as per everything to date Not only does no one believe gated will rival annealing on optimization. They aren't even here yet. We surmise 5yrs for them and annealing is commerical today with over 100 customers and growing. So it has first mover advantage too and a minimum 5yr head start Simulation and all other areas of qc only equates to the other 25% of the TAM and well they'll all scrap it out for that in 5yrs plus but we can focus on the 75% of the TAM now and still not be rivalled for it when gated does come to fruition Summary their edge is not threatened at all by progress in gated models.
