I think we will see “tariff millionaires” just like we saw “COVID millionaires” and “Crypto millionaires” This feels like an incredible asymmetric bet. Tell me why this wouldn’t work: There’s a lag between now & when the pain of tariffs is actually felt. So how can you front run? Here’s my guess: 1. Identify the top 50 items most likely to see a spike in price from tariffs (use any deep research tool to whittle it down) 2. Go to any auction site and buy mass quantities of one or a few of those products (@ShannonJean this seems like a no brainer) 3. Wait a month. Either tariffs go into effect and you’ve made a lot of money OR they don’t and you sell them piecemeal I’m sure people are speculating by trading commodities but this is: - Much smaller scale - Not nearly as sexy - An illiquid market so significant executional risk - Higher margin (if you can pull it off) Am I crazy? Are people already doing this and I’m just late to the party?
